Steve Darmody has been serving Christ through concert ministry since 1979, averaging some 100 concerts each year and nearing 3500 concerts in his lifetime. His award winning voice is featured on eight CDs along with some of the finest musicians and producers in Christian music, including Nashville’s Lari Goss and Dick Tunney. His music style ranges from inspirational to adult contemporary music and light Christian Jazz.
In addition to recordings and live performance, Steve has performed on numerous Christian television networks including several appearances on TBN, Canada’s 100 Huntley Street; Cornerstone TeleVision (CTV); Daystar; The Miracle Channel; 3ABN and more. He sings for all denominational groups and national gatherings. Steve was also invited to be a guest concert artist during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in Atlanta.
Steve has had the privilege of ministering in an array of situations and venues – from Carnegie Hall to make-shift stages in Australia’s outback. He was invited to share a gospel concert at the Pentagon and also sang for the US Senate Staff luncheon. Multiple overseas tours have taken him, literally, around the world. But his heart remains, as it has always been, in the ministry and mission of the local church.
Steve has been an Artist Associate for World Vision for 22 years, finding over 4000 children sponsors. In 2012 Steve was selected as World Vision’s Artist of the Year. World Vision is the largest Christian relief, development and child sponsorship organization in the world, providing a better future to over one million children in almost 50 countries. Steve’s travels have taken him to Uganda, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Romania and many other countries in which World Vision works and treasures this first-hand experience with the world’s poor and hurting.
Steve’s hope is that people will carry his songs into their daily lives, and be reminded that the claims of Christ, clearly found in His Word, will produce a life filled with contentment and peace.

Georgette Cochran (8/2012) “Steve, Thanks for coming to Bowling Green this evening. We were so blessed by your music, mission, and testimony. May I share my personal gratitude to you for using your beautiful talents for God! I’m going back to a concert you gave between the fall of 1989 and the early 90’s — 20 years ago at least! Lots of changes had come my way; some wandering, dark valleys with much uncertainty, distanced from fellowship — all filled my life at the time. While I can not name the actual songs you sang that day, I can tell you what a change they made in my life! I sat there drinking in every drop of blessing, and truly my cup was filled! At times it seemed you were singing personally to me—just the words God knew I needed to hear, and I could feel His love flowing to me through you, and the words you sang. Through the years, the blessing continue to fill my cup — the blessings of God through music ministry. Thank you Steve, from a heart full of gratitude.”
George Powell (6/2012) – “I have been blessed, personally, and as a meeting planner, to work with Steve on many occasions. Steve will remember when I worked with the Southern Union on major meetings, plus my role as coordinator of advertising for evangelists in the Southern Union like Ron Halvorsen, Lyle Aalbrecht, and others, and also as Health Director where Steve would provide music and inspiration at our doctors’ conferences and lay training. But the best was when I was VP at Ga-Cumb responsible for camp meeting, the area convocations, and Cohutta Springs. It was always a pleasure when Steve and Joni Darmody could grace the banner of the announcement. You knew the music would be appreciated, the performers would have gracious interaction with those attending, and they were pleasant to work with on a professional basis. I even go back farther than that–when Steve was assistant pastor at Belvedere and even earlier to the time when his mother, Carole, was Women’s Dean at Bass and Steve rode a bicycle around campus. Even then, you knew the kid had talent.”
Sam Ocampo (5/2012) – “What a day it was! Yesterday, my wife and I drove to Clearlake, CA to hear Steve Darmody in concert. We, along with a mesmerized congregation, were transported to Heaven as we enjoyed a magnificent repertoire, impeccable preaching, stunning arrangements from his album FOR TIME AND ETERNITY. His best album to date. … After yesterday’s concert I feel inspired to say Thank You Steve, for your excellence, your passion, and your leadership as one of the most successful “masters of the sacred song” I know.”
